Odisha Cabinet Approves 8 Key Proposals, Including City Gas Distribution Policy

Odisha Cabinet Approves 8 Key Proposals, Including City Gas Distribution Policy

Bhubaneswar, April 22: The cabinet held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, at the Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhavan, and approved eight significant proposals aimed at boosting various sectors in the state. The decisions were announced by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, who briefed the media following the meeting.

A wide array of proposals from eight departments, including Industries, Electronics and Information Technology, Housing and Urban Development, Construction, Commerce and Transport, Revenue and Disaster Management, Public Administration and Public Grievances, and Health and Family Welfare, were discussed and endorsed. Below are the key proposals approved by the Cabinet:

  1. City Gas Distribution Policy: The Cabinet approved a new policy to promote clean energy infrastructure through city gas distribution, enhancing the state’s energy framework.
  2. Odisha State Data Policy 2.0:A revised data policy was approved to streamline the management and use of data in the state.
  3. Textile Industry Boost in Western Odisha: The Cabinet gave the green light to a proposal for M/s Shree Ambica Cotspin’s Spinning Unit in Bolangir, marking a significant step for the textile value chain in western Odisha.
  4. Odisha Transport-Traffic and Enforcement Cadre Rules: The Cabinet approved the formulation of the new "Odisha Transport-Traffic and Enforcement (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2026," superseding the previous 2013 rules.
  5. Healthcare Council Rules: The Cabinet approved the creation of the “Odisha State Allied and Healthcare Council Rules, 2026,” in line with the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021.
  6. Amendment to Odisha Right to Public Services Rules: A revision of the Odisha Right to Public Services Rules, 2012, was approved to enhance service delivery.
  7. Indian Stamp Act Ordinance: The Cabinet also approved the proposal to bring an ordinance under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899.
  8. High-Level Bridge in Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Corridor: The Cabinet approved the lowest bid of Rs 158.88 crore from M/s SPS Construction India Pvt Ltd. for the construction of a high-level bridge over the Kathajodi River, which will provide a direct link between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

These decisions are expected to bring significant improvements to Odisha's infrastructure, governance, and industrial development.Bottom of Form
