Bhubaneswar, October 3: Newly appointed Odisha BJP in-charge D Purandeswari on Saturday emphasised the need to strengthen the party organisation and ensure better coordination between the government and the organisation as the BJP gears up for the upcoming panchayat and municipal elections in 2027

Purandeswari attended a key organisational meeting in Bhubaneswar to review the party’s preparedness for the elections. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was also present at the meeting, chaired by state BJP president Manmohan Samal.

On her first visit to Odisha after being reappointed as the party’s state in-charge, Purandeswari said strengthening coordination between the government and the organisation would remain a priority.

“I have been entrusted with the responsibility of Odisha in-charge for the second time. Priority will be given to maintaining coordination between the government and the organisation in the state. The party organisation will be made even stronger,” she said.

Purandeswari arrived in Bhubaneswar along with newly appointed co-in-charge and BJP national secretary Swadesh Singh. The two leaders were welcomed by party workers at the airport and later felicitated at the state BJP office.

According to a BJP leader, the meeting focused on organisational activities, future programmes and preparations for the forthcoming panchayat and municipal elections.

The leaders also reviewed the party’s activities under the month-longSeva Sankalp Abhiyan, which was launched on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Discussions were also held on programmes scheduled under the campaign until October 17.

During their two-day visit to Odisha, Purandeswari and Singh are scheduled to participate in several programmes under theSeva Sankalp Abhiyanand attend a series of organisational meetings across the state.
