
Bhubaneswar, September 11: In preparation for the upcoming Odisha Legislative Assembly session, Speaker Surama Padhy has called for an all-party meeting to take place on September 16. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss strategies to ensure the smooth functioning of the Assembly session, set to begin on September 18.
The upcoming session will be relatively short, spanning only seven working days. The session is scheduled to run from September 18 to September 25. As part of the preparations, Speaker Padhy plans to engage with leaders of all political parties during the September 16 meeting, fostering a constructive and conducive atmosphere for the proceedings.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary has directed departmental secretaries to provide timely and accurate responses to any questions raised in the Assembly. They have been advised to give this matter their personal attention, ensuring that all answers are well-researched and prepared in advance.
Additionally, to ensure full availability during the session, the Chief Secretary has instructed departmental secretaries to minimize their travel commitments. They have been urged to avoid foreign trips unless necessary and to limit out-of-state travel. Any pre-scheduled trips should be reconsidered or rescheduled to guarantee that secretaries can dedicate their time and efforts to supporting the Assembly’s proceedings.
