Bhubaneswar, November 22: A low-pressure area has formed over the South Andaman Sea and Malacca Strait, driven by an active cyclonic circulation, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre. The system is expected to strengthen into a depression over the central South Bay of Bengal by November 24 evening.

Over the next 48 hours, the system could intensify further, possibly becoming a cyclonic storm as it moves northwestward. Odisha is set for dry weather over the next five days, with temperatures rising by 2-3°C. However, weather changes are anticipated next week, with coastal districts likely to experience cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall as the system approaches.

Rainfall is expected to affect Odisha from November 27, with heavy showers possible in some coastal areas. This could impact the state during the last week of November. Farmers, already concerned about the onset of winter, worry about potential damage to crops during the critical harvesting season.
