Berhampur, Aug 21: At least two kanwariyas were killed and 11 others sustained injuries when a speeding car hit them on Bhetanai-Bhejiput road in Ganjam district today morning.
The deceased have been identified as Mukuna Behera (32) and Anita Kumari Jena (38) of Arakhpur village.

Sources said, the incident took place when the kanwariyas were heading towards Tadakeswar Temple in Arakhpur village from Aska.
The locals spotted the incident and informed the police officials.
Being informed, police reached the spot and rushed the injured to MKCG Medical College and Hospital where their condition was stated to be stable following treatment.
A case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence has been registered against the unidentified car driver.
