Bhubaneswar, July 6: To ensure the peaceful and orderly observance of Moharrum, the Bhadrak District Police have implemented a comprehensive security plan. The arrangements are aimed at maintaining law and order, ensuring the smooth conduct of religious processions, and preventing any communal disturbances.
Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG of the Eastern Range, is personally overseeing the entire security operation in the district. Under his supervision, 20 platoons of police forces have been deployed across sensitive zones, including religious sites, procession routes, and densely populated neighborhoods.
Vehicular traffic is being strictly regulated to allow the smooth movement of processions and avoid congestion. The Bomb Disposal Squad is conducting extensive anti-sabotage inspections, while fire tenders and ambulances have been positioned at key locations to handle any emergencies swiftly.
Surveillance measures have been significantly strengthened. CCTV cameras, drone surveillance, and videographers are being used to monitor the processions in real time. Police personnel have been equipped with VHF sets and walkie-talkies to ensure seamless communication.
Peace committee meetings have been held to promote communal harmony and cooperation among different communities. Mobile patrolling has been intensified, especially in mixed-population areas, to deter any untoward incidents. Authorities are also keeping a close watch on the activities of known anti-social elements.
In addition, social media platforms are under strict observation to curb the spread of misinformation or inflammatory content that could incite communal tension.
To coordinate these extensive measures, a Master Composite Control Room has been set up at Purunabazar Police Station. The District Police Control Room is also functioning round the clock to ensure prompt response to any situation.
The Bhadrak District Police reaffirm their commitment to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for all communities during the Moharrum festival and continue to work diligently to uphold law and order across the district.
