Bhubaneswar, July 24: In a significant step towards promoting regional language education, a new +2 Science textbook in Odia was officially launched at Ramadevi Women’s College on Wednesday. The event was jointly organized by the college and the Institute of Odia Studies and Research.

School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond graced the occasion as the chief guest and lauded the initiative, calling it a proud moment for the state. He emphasized that under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, learning in the mother tongue is being prioritized to enhance students’ understanding and connection with their subjects.

Until now, students pursued the +2 Science curriculum through English-medium textbooks. The introduction of the Odia version aims to bridge the language gap and make science education more accessible.

As part of the programme, copies of the newly released textbook were distributed to select students. The event also featured a ceremonial welcome for newly admitted students to the institution.
