Bhubaneswar, Jul 26: The Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar arrested Odia actor Udayan Aparajeet for roles in films like Badmas Toka for alleged non-repayment of a loan amounting to Rs 31.5 lakh.
According to businessman Saroj Sahu's complaint, Udayan, a resident of Badamangalpur village under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district, borrowed the money in October 2021, claiming it was for upgrading a steel factory, but refused to repay it despite several requests.
Udayan's situation worsened when a cheque he gave to the businessman bounced due to insufficient funds in his account. When Sahu talked to Udayan about repaying the loan, he allegedly threatened him for dire consequences.
Based on the complaint, police arrested Udayan near Badagada Canal Road. Udayan, who also has roles in multilingual and film production, has now come under police investigation.
