Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Deaf Cricket Association (ODCA) proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dipti Rani Sahoo on her remarkable selection to the Indian Women’s Deaf Cricket Team for the upcoming international series against Sri Lanka. The Women’s Deaf T20I International Series will feature five T20 matches and is scheduled to be held from 7th July 2026 to 13th July 2026 in Sri Lanka.
Dipti Rani a deaf cricketer from Fire Station Slum, Baramunda, has become a symbol of determination and inspiration for many young athletes. She belongs to a humble and financially struggling family, yet her dreams and dedication have always been stronger than the challenges she faced.
She belongs to a humble family. Her father, Manoj Kumar Sahoo, works as a car driver and tirelessly supports the family through hard work and sacrifice. Her mother, Mama Sahoo, is a homemaker who has always encouraged and supported her daughter’s dreams. She also has a younger sister, Sonakshi Sahoo, who is pursuing Diploma Engineering studies.
Though their native home is in Bhanjanagar, the family currently resides in Fire Station Slum, Baramunda. Despite facing many struggles in life, Dipti never gave up on her passion for cricket.
Alongside pursuing her +3 studies, Dipti followed her childhood passion for cricket and joined coaching at Oscar Academy. She is the only deaf girl training at the academy, where she overcome communication barriers and training difficulties through courage, discipline, and dedication. Her journey reflects extraordinary determination and commitment toward the sport.
Her outstanding achievement is the result of consistent hard work, perseverance, and excellent performance in deaf cricket. Her selection is a matter of immense pride for the Odisha Deaf Cricket Association (ODCA) and the entire state of Odisha.
