Bhadrak, May 6: In a significant breakthrough, Bhadrak rural police arrested a habitual mobile snatcher and recovered 19 stolen smart phones from his possession. The accused, identified as Sagal Sunil of Dahisahi in Jajpur district, was reportedly involved in a series of mobile snatching incidents across multiple locations.
According to police sources, Sunil had several cases registered against him in various police stations and was known to be a repeat offender. Acting on a tip-off from reliable sources, police launched a raid in the Betada area of Bhadrak, where Sunil had allegedly come to sell the stolen mobile phones. He was apprehended on the spot, and the stolen devices were seized.
At a press conference held at the Bhadrak rural police station, Sadar SDPO informed the media that individuals who have lost their phones to theft may reclaim their devices by presenting valid ownership documents. The police have urged victims to come forward with necessary proof to retrieve their belongings.
Authorities have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to curb such criminal activities and bring repeat offenders to justice.
