Bhubaneswar, July 19: In light of recent political unrest and disruptions to healthcare services, the authorities at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have issued a strict notice banning all forms of protests and sloganeering within the hospital premises.
The move comes after a series of demonstrations erupted following the death of a Fakir Mohan College student, who had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS. The student’s suicide had sparked statewide outrage, prompting political parties to stage protests inside the medical campus, significantly affecting patient care.
Adding to the tensions, a fresh incident has come to light in which a minor girl from Balanga under Puri district was allegedly set on fire. She has been shifted to AIIMS and undergoing treatment with 70% burn injuries. The incident has once again drawn political attention, with leaders and party workers reportedly flocking to the hospital.
In response, AIIMS authorities have taken preventive steps to maintain order and ensure uninterrupted medical services. A notice has been prominently displayed outside the Burn Unit where the minor is receiving treatment, clearly stating that no protests or sloganeering will be allowed within the hospital premises.
Hospital officials emphasized that patient care remains their top priority and any activity disrupting medical services will not be tolerated.
