JJ Valaya redefines cultural history through modern bridal couture

Renowned designer JJ Valaya presented his Autumn/Winter 2026 collection at Hyundai India Couture Week. His latest presentation, titled Siddi, turned the runway into a beautiful display of history and cultural exchange. He moved past simple fashion trends to highlight deep ancestral roots.

Brought to the Indian subcontinent centuries ago as merchants and soldiers, the Siddi community holds a unique Afro-Indian cultural legacy. This specific community inspired the veteran designer. He used their rich history to reimagine traditional attire through a very modern lens. His designs capture movement, memory, and a strong sense of belonging.

Striking Silhouettes and Colors

Models walked the ramp wearing stunning bridal lehengas, modern saris, and elegant anarkalis. The menswear featured regal sherwanis and tailored bandhgalas. Every single piece carried the unmistakable artistic mark of the House of Valaya.

Rich colors dominated the evening. Antique gold, deep sapphire blue, champagne, and emerald green created a striking visual balance. This remarkable collection launch happened alongside a special boutique expansion. He opened a new high-fashion bridal space at the JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity. This fresh boutique marks the start of upcoming celebrations. His iconic fashion house will mark thirty-five successful years in 2027.
