New posts approved for Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science at Capital Hospital

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: Governor Ganeshi Lal has approved the creation of various posts for the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science & Research, Trauma Care & Surgery complex with casualty at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. The State Cabinet in November had given its nod for construction of the institute. The work will be done at an estimated cost of Rs 235 crore. It will facilitate health services with cheaper cost to the people of the state including Bhubaneswar.Cabinet had approved the lowest bid of Larsen & Toubro Ltd for execution of the work. The hospital started in 1954 on 20 acres of land with only 60 beds which has significantly increased to more than 600 beds. More than 10 lakh people of Bhubaneswar, along with adjacent districts like Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri and adjoining areas depend on the hospital.
