Ahmedabad, June 13: A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, along with sniffer dog, resumed search and rescue operations at the crash site of the ill-fated Air India flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad on Thursday, in a final effort to locate any possible survivors.

The tragic crash occurred on June 12 when a 12-year-old Boeing 787-8 aircraft, which had taken off from Ahmedabad at 13:38 hours, went down shortly after departure. Air India has confirmed that 241 of the 242 people on board have died in the incident. The only survivor is reported to be a British national, who is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Air India has set up dedicated helplines to assist the families of the victims, including those calling from abroad. The Tata Group, which owns Air India, earlier announced a compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of each deceased passenger.
