New Delhi, September 01:Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday attended the 63rd Foundation Day of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in New Delhi and made a grand announcement to take NCERT to new heights.
The Union Minister has announced that NCERT will be a Deemed-to-be University.
On this occasion, Pradhan also inaugurated a state-of-the-art ICT Lab of CIET.
Congratulating the NCERT’s success on the occasion of being recognized as a university, the Union Minister said that education is the means to fulfill human interests. The NCERT has made a tremendous contribution to the education system of the country. NCERT has made its mark in areas such as research, school education, teacher’s training and youth education. Being a research university, NCERT will provide new opportunities for global partnerships and contribute to the global education landscape.
If the education method is according to the child's interest, the child will develop. In this background, sports-based education developed by NCERT for 3 to 8-year-old children "Jadui Pitara" has been a catalyst for change in education. This will benefit 10 crore students of the country. The Union Minister called for merging Balbhavan and Balbatika with NCERT for the holistic development of children.
The Union Minister emphasized on preparation of textbooks on mother tongue and advised the NCERT officials to set up AR, VR, AI, labs in its 7 regional centres. He said that in order to make India a hub for research and innovation, centers must be prepared with the latest technologies of the world. NCERT teacher training course also needs to be optimized. India's students must be prepared for Industrial Revolution 4.0. Advising the NCERT authorities to prepare a data-based book on topics like India's Covid management and Chandrayaan, he said that future readers should know India's thoughts and ethics as well as new developments.
