Naveen Patnaik expresses condolences over Jaipur hospital fire tragedy

Bhubaneswar, October 6: Former Odisha Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Monday expressed his heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of six lives in a fire at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The devastating blaze, which broke out in the ICU of the state-run hospital, claimed the lives of at least six patients, as confirmed by officials.

Patnaik, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, took to X (formerly Twitter) to convey his sorrow: “Deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of lives in a fire accident at Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families during this difficult time. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.”

The fire has left the hospital and the local community in mourning, with many expressing their sympathies and solidarity with the affected families.
