Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is soon going to set up its new campus in Odisha.
With the ambition and approval of the Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, it was decided in a high-level meeting held here in Bhubaneswar to establish a NFSU branch in the state in order to curb and crackdown cybercrimes which is on the rise.
Director of NFSU, New Delhi Purabi Phokhrial, and Director of NFSU Tripura HK Pratihari, also asserted the Chief Minister to establish a unit of forensic sciences of the varsity especially on studying cybercrimes at the earliest.
Underlining the significance of the NFSU Campus CM Majhi said, “The national university’s campus will help create skilled manpower and experts to investigate and check the cybercrimes in the state. The campus, which will be developed as a centre of excellence, will not only train the police officers on cyber security but also meet the needs of the state forensic officers.”
Among other officials Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Odisha’s Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary, Home department Satyabrat Sahu, DGP YB Khurania and ADG Arun Bothra were present at the meeting.
