Indian boxers achieved their best ever finish at the Commonwealth Games 2026 by securing the top spot in the sport's medal standings. Bringing home a record-breaking ten medals, the squad claimed seven golds and three silvers. Narender Berwal, an Asian Games bronze medallist, concluded the campaign on Saturday, August 1, by winning a silver medal in the men’s +90kg event. He faced Damar Thomas of England in the final bout and lost by a 0-5 unanimous decision.

Golden Victories for Indian Men
Ankush Panghal contributed significantly to the winning streak by defeating England's Dimeji Shittu in the men’s 80kg final. He won India’s seventh gold medal through a decisive 4-1 split verdict. Sachin Siwach also delivered a spectacular comeback in the men’s 60kg final. After trailing for two rounds against Namibia’s Tryagain Morning Ndevelo, Sachin forced a standing count in the third round to secure a 3-2 split victory.
Women Athletes Command the Ring
Preeti Pawar started the golden streak by scoring a commanding 5-0 victory over Canada’s Scarlett Delgado in the women’s 54kg final. Reigning world champion Jaismine Lamboria secured the women’s 57kg title with an identical 5-0 win against defending champion Michaela Walsh of Northern Ireland. Sakshi Chaudhary easily defeated Ruby White of England 5-0 in the women's 51kg category. Arundhati Choudhary also claimed gold by shutting out England's Chantelle Reid 5-0 in the women’s 70kg final, while Priya Ghanghas added one more gold to the tally.
Crucial Silver Medal Contributions
Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain earned a silver medal after a tough contest in her respective women’s 70kg final. She fell 1-4 to Emma-Sue Greentree of Australia in a split decision. Jadumani Singh similarly fought hard to contribute an additional silver medal for the nation.
