Bhubaneswar, Jul 7: Nandankanan Zoological Park has proudly announced the arrival of 11 new yellow anaconda hatchlings, further enriching the park's diverse reptile collection.
This latest addition follows the birth of seven yellow anaconda hatchlings on June 29, bringing the total number of yellow anacondas at the park to 25, as confirmed by zoo officials. The newborn snakes are reported to be healthy and are being well-cared for by the park’s dedicated staff.
Yellow anacondas native to South America, are one of the largest snake species in the world, though they are non-venomous. Their successful breeding in captivity is considered a significant achievement in the field of herpetology, highlighting the park’s commitment to conservation and research.
The zoo's management has expressed pride in this breeding milestone, which contributes to the broader efforts to protect and conserve rare and endangered species. Nandankanan’s ongoing success in breeding such species marks a significant step in ensuring the survival of these magnificent creatures.
