
Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: Carrying forward the implementation of Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva yojana (MBSSY), at least 1,398 critical patients from remote areas in Malkangiri district were provided critical superspecialty treatment free of cost through a special camp arranged there at Malkangiri District Head quarter hospital from 18th to 21st this month.
Out of them 260 were cardiac patients, 415 were neurology patients, 263 were gastro, 229 under endocrinology, 231 under nephrology, and 06 were treated with laparoscopic surgery.Besides, ECG and endoscopy was done for 130 and 59 patients respectively.
The team of superspecialists and consultants from Sriram Chandra Bhanja Medical College and hospital joined the camp and treated the patients. The team included Dr Kaibalya Ranjan Dash Asst. Prof. Gastroenterology, Dr Aujjwalya Kumar Jena Asst. Prof. Neurology, Dr Aruna Acharya Prof. Nephrology , Dr Ranjan Kumar Mohanty Asst. Prof cardiology , Dr Bijay Kumar Sahoo Asst. Prof. endocrinology, Dr. Jyotirmaya Nayak, Ass. Prof. Surgery, and Dr. Raj Mahapatra, Asst. Prof, Anaesthesia, PGIMER Capital hospital, BBSR.
This team was assisted by another team of senior doctors including Dr. Dhirej Kumar Lenka from Nephrology, Dr. Sanghamitra Sahoo from Neurology, Dr. Sitakanta Panda from Endocrinology, and Dr Avansh Taunk, from Cardiology department. The assisting team reached Malkangiri one day before to take case history of each patient and prepare them for clinical interventions. ICU along with modern equipment and machineries were installed prior to the camp for various tests, clinical procedures and treatment.
Successful organisation of this camp infused a greater degree of satisfaction among the people and intelligentsia of the district.
“Such high level treatment for us in remote area surrounded by hills and forests, which we could never dream of become a reality under the leadership of our Chief Minister Mohan Majhi” said many patients after their discharge from the camp getting due care and healthy advices.
