Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: The mortal remains of former MLA, V Sugnana Kumari Deo reached Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
The mortal remains of Deo were received at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the evening by the state government and the BJD officials.
A sea of people from different walks of life bade a tearful adieu to the departed leader reaching the airport following which the mortal remains were taken to the Sankha Bhawan wherein Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and senior BJD leaders paid heartfelt tribute to the 10-time Legislator.
The body was taken to the Odisha Legislative Assembly and later left for the native place in Ganjam for cremation, following full state honor.
Deo passed away in the Apollo Hospital in Chennai in the wee hours on Friday due to geriatric-related ailments.
