Bhubaneswar, Ap 2: Mohes Kumar Behera, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), has assumed the position of General Manager (I/C) of East Coast Railway (ECoR).
Graduating from the University College of Engineering, Burla with a degree in Civil Engineering and earning his M.Tech in Ocean Engineering from IIT Madras, Shri Behera brings a wealth of academic expertise to his new role. With over three decades of experience in Railway operations, his career has been marked by significant contributions.
During his tenure, Shri Behera has held prominent roles such as Chief Bridge Engineer and Chief Engineer (Bridge Rehabilitation) within ECoR. Notably, he served as Group General Manager at Rites, Bhubaneswar, and as Chief Engineer (Construction), overseeing the Ganga Bridge project under East Central Railway at Patna & Munger.
His career also includes pivotal positions such as Sr. Divisional Engineer (Co-Ordination) in Sambalpur, Dy. Chief Vigilance Officer in ECoR, and Dy. Chief Engineer (Con) in NF Railway, reflecting his diverse and comprehensive experience within the railway sector.
