Hyderabad, May 13: As part of the Miss World 2024 celebrations in Hyderabad, 109 contestants from countries around the world will participate in a vibrant Heritage Walk at the iconic Charminar on Tuesday. According to a press release from Telangana’s Information and Public Relations Department (I&PR), the delegates will arrive in four specially arranged buses and will be greeted at Charminar with the energetic rhythms of Marfa music—a traditional sound native to Hyderabad's Old City.
A special photo shoot is scheduled at the monument, capturing the grandeur of Charminar alongside the international participants. Following this, the contestants will head to the famed Laad Bazaar for a curated shopping experience. They will explore nine specially selected shops known for their exquisite bangles, pearls, and decorative crafts, including Hyderabad Bangles, Mujeeb Bangles, Kanhaiyalal, Motilal Karwa, Gokuldas Zariwala, K.R. Kasat, Jaju Pearls, A.H. Zariwala, and Afzal Miya Karchobwale.
The walk will also include live demonstrations of traditional bangle-making techniques, giving the contestants a hands-on view of the city's rich artisanal heritage.
The day will culminate with a cultural evening at the historic Chowmahalla Palace. The participants will take part in a traditional mehendi ceremony and will have the opportunity to dress in elegant Nizami attire. The evening will also feature screenings of specially curated films that showcase the cultural diversity and tourist appeal of Telangana.
