Bhubaneswar, July 17:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed profound grief over the tragic death of two devotees during the Puri Rath Yatra, commenced on Thursday, reportedly due to suffocation.
The CM also expressed solidarity to the ailing ones who sustained injuries amid the crowd and assured them of free and utmost care.
Accordingly, Majhi directed senior health officials, to ensure the best possible treatment for those who sustained injuries or fell ill during the event.
Two people lost their lives after falling ill amid the massive crowd during the Rath Yatra festival in Puri on Thursday.
A 60-year-old man reportedly died after experiencing breathing difficulties, while another person passed away due to a suspected cardiac arrest during treatment.
