Puri, Jan 21: Unidentified miscreants looted money from the hundi (donation box) of Siruli Mahabir temple at Siruli near Chandanpur in this district on Monday night.

The priests on Tuesday morning found money missing from the box, which was damaged.

They immediately informed both the Chandanpur police and the temple office.

Being informed, police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter.

Local people expressed sorrow over the police’s inaction in checking frequent theft from the temple hundi.
