Bhawanipatna, Aug 20: A minor girl in Odisha’s Kalahandi committed suicide jumping before a running train with his lover on Tuesday.
The fiancé, identified as Ghanasghyam Bagh however was survived and rescued by the loco pilot from the spot.
The tragic incident occurred in Kesinga of Kalahandi district on Tuesday after the marriage was resisted by both the parents, said sources.
As per reports, the lovebirds who were reportedly in a live in relationship tried their levelbest to convince their parents to approve their marital relation but it ended in a fiasco.
Following disapproval of their parents regarding an institutional marriage, the couple took the extreme decision to end themselves.
The girl, who is a minor, died on the spot after being run over by the train while the boy was rescued by the train loco pilot and admitted to Titilagarh Hospital with critical injuries. The survivor, identified as Ghanshyam Bag is a resident of Binekela village of Kesinga block in Kalahandi.
Later he was shifted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir as his condition deteriorated.
As per the latest report from the Medical College authorities one of Bagh’s leg was amputed due to detatchment of it from the upper limb.
