Sambalpur, Oct 02: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) launched “Special Campaign 5.0”- a nationwide initiative to promote cleanliness, efficiency and good governance in government offices.

Keshav Rao, Director (HR) emphasised that Swachhata is not just a campaign, it’s an ongoing responsibility. Meanwhile, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Director (Tech/P&P) administered the Swachhata pledge to the employees at the company headquarters in Sambalpur.

MCL has identified around six lakh square feet of surface area across 231 locations including mining areas, workshops, residential colonies and office premises for clean-up. A total of 543 metric tonnes of scrap has also been earmarked for efficient disposal.

Under this campaign, MCL aims to enhance cleanliness and sustainable practices across its operational areas in Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts of Odisha.

The month-long campaign will be observed till October 31 focusing on improving office spaces, cleaning and ensuring efficient e-waste management & scrap disposal.
