Bhubaneswar, January 10: Odisha's Commerce & Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena stated that the nine-seater aircraft, which force-landed near Rourkel, experienced a "sudden drop in pressure" that caused it to lose balance and crash. The DGCA has initiated a probe into the incident.

The IndiaOne Air Caravan 208, registered VT-KSS, was just 8-10 km from its destination when the accident occurred. The aircraft was carrying passengers and crew, and six individuals, including two crew members and four passengers, were injured. The Minister confirmed that the injured were quickly transported to nearby hospitals and are now stable.

Jena assured that the situation was promptly handled by local authorities, with coordination from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The Minister emphasized that, despite the crash, the event could have been far worse if the impact had been more severe. He reassured the public about air travel safety, stressing that steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

The DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and the Directorate of Civil Aviation have been notified, and investigations are underway. The Odisha government is providing full support to the victims, with medical care being offered at J.P. Hospital and Rourkela Government Hospital.Bottom of Form
