Bolangir, May 14: A major fire broke out at the Bolangir Grid Station, affecting the region significantly. The blaze erupted at the 132/33 kV grid in Tusura, which is the largest grid in the area.

The fire spread to a newly installed transformer and other equipment located at the back of the grid, creating a spectacular but dangerous scene as flames lit up the surroundings.

Efforts to control the fire are underway. The fire brigade has been deployed, but the fire remains uncontrolled due to the presence of high-voltage 400-volt wires, creating a hazardous situation. Additional firefighting teams have arrived from nearby areas, including Deogaon, to assist.

As a precaution, the local power supply has been disconnected, leaving residents without electricity. Authorities are working to contain the blaze and restore normalcy as quickly as possible.
