Koraput, Dec 19: A major accident occurred near the RTO office in Sunabeda on National Highway 26 in Koraput district, on Friday when an Eicher truck, suffering from a brake failure, rammed into multiple vehicles.

Reports indicate that the out-of-control truck collided with two pickup vans and eight motorcycles, causing widespread damage. An electric pole was also knocked down in the crash.

Upon receiving information, police and fire department personnel swiftly arrived at the scene to control the situation and calm locals, who had gathered on the road after the accident. Despite traffic disruptions, authorities are working to clear the road and restore normalcy.

The driver of one of the pickup vans was critically injured and has been admitted to the Koraput hospital for treatment. The force of the collision was so intense that eight motorcycles were reportedly crushed to pieces.

Authorities are currently managing the situation and assessing the full extent of the damage.
