Bargarh, Feb 23: Police, SOG Jawans and DVF brigades reportedly unearthed a Moa camp in Odisha’s Bargarh forest on Friday.
A huge cache of incriminating materials were seized from the forest during a joint combing operation taken up by police and the DVF Jawans. However, a number of cadres escaped from the camp.
Source said,an exchange of fire took place between the Maoists and jawans of Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Odisha police in the afternoon during the combing operations initiated in the Gandhamardan hills under Paikmal police limits.
Meanwhile, the SOG jawans busted a Maoist camp and recovered bags, clothes, food and other ultra-related items left behind inside the camp.
Search operation continued for a long time in the area under the direct supervision of ADG Ops and DG Police, the sources added.
