Keonjhar, June 2: In a tragic incident, a youth died after falling from a mango tree while plucking mangoes at Kesadurapal village under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rabindra Sutar. According to reports, Rabindra had gone to a riverbank in the morning before leaving for work with his brother. During that time, he climbed a mango tree to pluck mangoes. However, he reportedly lost balance and fell from the tree onto the asbestos roof of a nearby house, breaking through it and landing inside the structure.

As no one witnessed the incident, Rabindra remained unconscious inside the house for nearly two hours. Family members later launched a search after receiving information about his whereabouts and found him lying unconscious inside the house.

He was immediately rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over the family and the village.
