Bhubaneswar, July 21: A man who was allegedly attacked over a past rivalry in the capital city has died while undergoing treatment. The deceased has been identified as Banamali Bhol, a resident of Jharana Basti under Mancheswar Police Station.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the 15th of this month when miscreants allegedly dragged Bhol out of his house and launched a fatal attack on him. He was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to a nearby hospital, where he was undergoing treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Police have initiated an investigation into the case. One accused, Aditya Lenka, has been arrested, while the prime accused, Sushil Swain, remains absconding. A search operation is underway to trace and arrest him.

Police officials have also stated that a scientific team may be engaged for further investigation if required.
