Balasore, May 23: A man allegedly attacked his girlfriend’s mother and maternal uncle with a sharp weapon on the premises of Sahadevkhunta Railway Station in Balasore.

According to sources, the girl, accompanied by her mother and maternal uncle, had gone to meet her former boyfriend, Jatin Pradhan, to resolve issues regarding their relationship. During the meeting, a heated argument broke out.

Enraged, Jatin reportedly attacked the woman and her uncle, seriously injuring both.

The victims were rushed to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition and later transferred to a hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.

The accused tried to flee the scene on his bike but was apprehended by police after his vehicle ran out of petrol. He has since been arrested.

Authorities are investigating the full sequence of events.

The incident has shocked the local community, with residents expressing concern over the violent dispute arising from a personal relationship.
