Bhadrak, Oct 10: A woman was brutally killed by her husband over suspected extra-marital affair. The incident occurred in Kharida Binayakpur village under Basudevpur police limits of Bhadrak district.
The deceased has been identified as Radharani Behera of the same village. Body of Radharani was recovered from farmland in the outskirts of her village.
According to the information, a dispute was prevailing between the couple for the last few days. Both were in Tamilnadu and while returning home, they again had a fight over some issues and an enraged Dipu killed Radharani with his towel, killed on the spot. After committing the crime, he dumped the body in farmland and returned home with his 12 month old daughter.
On Tuesday morning, locals spotted the body of Radharani and informed his family members. Being informed police also reached the spot, seized the body and started a probe over the incident. However, the accused husband Dipu has surrendered before the police.
Though the exact reason behind his brutal act is yet to be ascertained, it has been suspected that Dipu killed his wife over a suspected extra-marital affair. Further probe is on in this regard.
