New Delhi, Feb 9: Delhi Police are investigating bomb threat emails received by nine schools across the national capital on Monday morning. The threats were sent via email between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, prompting immediate responses from law enforcement and emergency services.

In South Delhi, three schools received bomb threats, including Air Force School on Lodhi Road, KR Mangalam School, and The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar. Other schools that were targeted include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School in Srinivasanpuri, Venkateshwar School in Rohini, Cambridge School in New Friends Colony, CM School in Rohini, DTA School in INA, and Bal Bharati School in Rohini.

Delhi Police, along with fire department teams and bomb disposal squads, were swiftly deployed to the affected schools to conduct thorough checks. While investigations are still ongoing, no suspicious objects have been found at the schools so far.

This incident in Delhi follows a similar event that took place in Chandigarh on January 28, when bomb threat emails were sent to 30 schools across the Union Territory. According to Chandigarh Police, the threats were directed at 22 private schools and eight government schools. Upon receiving the threats, Anti-Sabotage Teams, Bomb Disposal Squads, local police units, and emergency services, including the Fire Brigade, Ambulance, and PCR teams, were immediately sent to inspect the schools. After a detailed search, no explosives or suspicious materials were discovered.

As a precautionary measure, Chandigarh Police announced that they will maintain regular police deployments around educational institutions starting January 29, 2026, to ensure the safety and security of schools.

In response to the threats, Delhi Police have initiated a probe into the origin of the emails. An FIR has been filed at Police Station Sector 17 in Chandigarh, under Sections 113(3), 351(4), and 62 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as Section 66F of the Information Technology Act, which pertains to cybercrimes.

Authorities have assured the public that they are working diligently to investigate the threats and ensure that schools remain safe. Further updates are awaited as the investigations continue.
