Bhubaneswar, September 24: Members of the Mahila Congress held a strong protest outside the Odisha Assembly on Wednesday, demanding action against the growing atrocities committed against women in the state. The protest, known as a ‘Vidhan Sabha Gherao,’ saw party members carrying flags, leaflets, and banners as they marched from Congress Bhawan towards the assembly.
The demonstration, led by state president Minakshi Bahinipati, aimed to raise awareness about the alarming rise in crimes against women. However, the protesters were stopped by police at the barricades, preventing them from getting any closer to the assembly building, according to officials.
