Konark, Aug 7: In a tragic incident, a farmer was killed after being struck by lightning while working in his farmland in Kantimala village under Konark police limits in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Baidhar Bala (50).
As per reports, he was working in his farmland today morning when the rain suddenly began. While continuing his work in the rain, he was struck by lightning.
Immediately following the incident, locals rushed Baidhar to the Bangurigaon Community Healthcare Center (CHC) where the attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Upon receiving the information, Konark Police arrived at the scene and took the body into their custody.
An unnatural death case has been registered, and the body is set to be sent for post-mortem, said the police.
