Ganjam, June 2: In a tragic incident, two daily wagers were killed in lightning strike at Patapur village in Ganjam on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Dugula Pradhan and Sanyasi Sahu, residents of Puri and Polsara area.
Sources said the duo was working in a festival ground at the Gandhi Square in the Patapur village. They took shelter under a tree being aware of gusty wind and thunder storm. Meanwhile, lightning struck on the tree all of a sudden and the duo fell flat due the violent strike.
They were rushed to the Sanakhemundi hospital for treatment by the locals. However, they were declared dead by the attending doctors.
