Lakshmanan Meyyappan Creates History Earning His CA & CFA Titles before Turning 17

Sixteen-year-old breaks records dominating global financial sectors before graduation.

Sixteen-year-old Lakshmanan Meyyappan has officially secured his place in global history books by becoming the youngest male Chartered Accountant on record. Guinness World Records verified this extraordinary achievement in Dubai, marking his exact age at 16 years and 141 days. Securing professional accounting credentials usually requires years of grueling university study and post-graduate training, making this teenage accomplishment remarkably unique in global financial sectors.

Early Start during Lockdown

His rapid progression into advanced finance sparked during the early days of global COVID-19 lockdowns. Right after finishing his Class 10 board exams, Meyyappan started learning fundamental accounting concepts from his mother. Since she holds her own ACCA credentials, she guided his initial steps into the complex numerical field. By age 15, he actively pursued the demanding ACCA qualification and successfully passed all necessary requirements within a single year. Stopping at one major milestone was never his plan. Meyyappan continued his momentum by securing his highly coveted CFA charter soon after his initial victory. He currently balances a demanding workload as a Senior Research Analyst at Century Financial in Dubai, where he actively manages investments, analyses market trends, and drives high-level financial decision-making. Alongside his full-time corporate career, he is also pushing his academic limits by pursuing a Master of Science in Finance. When he steps away from analyzing numbers and market research, he spends his downtime meticulously designing and building custom watches.
