Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: A comprehensive security blueprint has been finalized ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit to Odisha. The State Assembly will be secured under a four-tier security cordon during her address at the Assembly premises. As many as 25 platoons of police forces will be deployed to ensure foolproof protection for the President.
The Commissionerate Police has planned a three-tier security arrangement for November 27. In addition, commandos from the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) along with other security personnel will form an extra layer of protection.
Bhubaneswar Airport, Raj Bhavan, and the State Assembly will remain on high alert on November 27 and 28. Five DCP-level officers will oversee the overall security operations during the President’s visit. Working under them will be five Additional DCPs, twenty ACPs, and thirty Inspectors who will supervise all security measures.
For route lining, five platoons of police forces will be deployed, while another platoon will handle traffic regulation. The DCP (Traffic) will be in charge of both route lining and traffic management.
A full-dress rehearsal of the President’s carcade is scheduled for November 26. On the same day, bomb squads and sniffer dog units will sweep various locations to detect any suspicious objects.
