Puri, Jan 18: The newly built ‘Shree Setu’ is Odisha's first trumpet bridge built under Shrimandir Parikrama Prakalpa.
It is a 2.8-kilometre bypass stretch in the city which will lead people coming in from Bhubaneswar and Brahmagiri directly to a multi-level parking spot by reducing visitors’ travel time by up to an hour avoiding the city traffic.
The bow-shaped bridge connects four lanes of roads and has been built on 37 acres of land.
The Shree Setu is designed for traffic management and a good experience for tourists. The Shree Setu is connected by 4 lanes of road.
The Odisha government has spent at least Rs 161.43 crore for the construction of this trumpet bridge.
Shree Mandir Parikrama Prakalpa is a massive peripheral development project around the 12th century Shrine.
The project encompasses various amenities such as parking spaces, Shree Setu (a bridge), pilgrimage centers, a new road for pilgrim movement, toilets, clock rooms, electrical work and more.
