Bhubaneswar, July 30: In the wake of the worsening flood situation, the Khordha district administration has issued a series of emergency measures to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure a swift response across the district.

Khordha Collector and District Magistrate, Amrit Ruturaj, on Thursday directed all government officials and employees to remain stationed at their respective headquarters until further orders. Officials have also been instructed not to leave their headquarters without prior approval from the competent authority.

The district administration has cancelled all leave granted to government employees with immediate effect. Officials currently on leave or headquarters leave have been directed to return to duty immediately. Further, all categories of leave have been suspended for the next four days, including Thursday.

To streamline flood management operations, the Collector has also appointed senior officers to supervise relief and rescue activities in various blocks. Their responsibilities include overseeing evacuation efforts, managing relief shelters, coordinating relief distribution, and monitoring restoration work.

The supervisory assignments are as follows:

• Saphalya Mandita Pradhan, ADM (Revenue) – Jatni
• Pratap Chandra Beura, ADM (General) – Bhubaneswar
• Jyoti Ranjan Sahu, CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad – Balipatna
• Manoranjan Sahu, Sub-Collector, Bhubaneswar – Balianta
• Sankalp Swastik Sahoo, Sub-Collector, Khordha – Khordha and Tangi

Both directives have come into effect immediately as the district administration steps up preparedness in response to heavy rainfall and the increasing flood threat, aiming to ensure efficient coordination and timely emergency response.
