Keonjhar, Sep 7: The body of the minor girl, who went missing after being swept away in a river in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Wednesday, was recovered on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Sasmita Nahak, daughter of Paria Nahak of Sanakhemundi village under Ghasipura police limits in the district.
According to the information, Sasmita had been to the Sendhei River with her aunt to take a bath. However, her feet accidentally slipped and she was swept away by the flow of the river water. Being informed, firefighters with locals carried out a search operation, but she could not be traced.
On Thursday morning, locals spotted the body of the minor girl floating in the river and informed her family members.
