Kendrapada, August 18: A 30-year-old man jumped into river on Saturday in Odisha after his wife did not agree to go to Hyderabad with him, as he used to torture her.
The deceased has been identified as Suvam Sekhar Swain alias Lucky of Narilo village under Sadar police limits in Kendrapara district. He jumped from the Basupur bridge into the Luna River on, said police.
Kendrapada Sadar police station IIC Saroj Sahu said a search operation was conducted by fire personnel on being informed about the incident, but the youth was yet to be traced out.
According to reports, Suvam was working at a Hyderabad-based company. On Friday, he asked his family members to give money to book a train ticket for going to Hyderabad with his wife. But his wife did not agree to go with him as he used to torture her following which the family members did not give him money. Irate over the family feud he jumped into the river to end his life.
