Karan Johar unveils poster for 'Homebound' ahead of Cannes premiere

Mumbai, May 14: In the lead-up to its premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, filmmaker Karan Johar has revealed the first official poster for Homebound, a poignant drama starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor. Sharing the poster on Instagram this Wednesday, Johar wrote:
"Some bonds carry us through. Presenting the first poster for HOMEBOUND, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor. Premieres at the Cannes Film Festival on 21st May 2025."
Adding to the excitement, legendary director Martin Scorsese has joined the project as executive producer.
Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, Homebound will be featured in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival—a significant return for Ghaywan, whose acclaimed debut Masaan earned honors in the same category at Cannes in 2015.
The film is backed by a strong production team including Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, with co-producers Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier also on board.
In addition to Homebound, the Cannes lineup will showcase cinematic gems from India including Satyajit Ray’s classic Aranyer Din Ratri and Anupam Kher’s directorial venture Tanvi The Great.
