​​​​​​​Patnagarh, Nov 4: In a major breakthrough, the Patnagarh police have arrested five members of a dacoit gang involved in a recent loot incident at Kuabaunsh village. The accused were apprehended in connection with the October 17 robbery at the residence of Ramakant Saraf, where cash and gold were looted.

Acting on the complaint, Balangir SP Abhilash Jindal directed the formation of a special investigation team under the supervision of Patnagarh SDPO Sadanand Pujari and leadership of IIC Haribandhu Gartia. Following a detailed probe, the team successfully tracked down and arrested the five accused.

During the operation, police seized one gold chain, a pair of gold earrings, five mobile phones, land documents, ₹1,000 in cash, and two knives from the possession of the accused.

Confirming the arrests, SDPO Sadanand Pujari stated that the accused have been forwarded to court. He added that the successful operation reflects the commitment of Patnagarh police to curb criminal activities in the region.
