Bhubaneswar, June 7: Though the BJP is yet to finalise its chief minister face for Odisha, preparations are in full swing here at Janata Maidan for the swearing-in ceremony of party's first government.
The party is going to celebrate the oath taking ceremony of its first Chief Minister for the state in a grand way.
The swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place on June 10 as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The list of invitees to the event has not been finalized. But, it is certain that PM Modi, Amit Shah, heavy weight BJP leaders and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states are scheduled to join the ceremony to be hosted at Janata Maidan, the expansive open ground in the state capital in presence of around 1 lakh people.
The Works department is overseeing all arrangements for the ceremony. Odisha DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi, Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda and Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh reviewed the work visiting Janata Maidan on Thursday.
Meanwhile, state BJP president Manmohan Samal and leader of Opposition in the outgoing Assembly Jayanarayan Mishra on Thursday left for Delhi to attend the party’s parliamentary board meeting, which will select Chief Minister.
All the 20 BJP MPs from Odisha have reached Delhi to attend the meeting.
