‘It would bet too painful’: Hema Malini on skipping Dharmendra’s Final Film ‘Ikkis’

Mumbai, Jan 13: Two months after the passing of Bollywood veteran actor Dharmendra, the sense of loss continues to linger among his fans and family. While audiences have been emotionally moved by his final on-screen appearance, the actor’s wife, Hema Malini, has revealed that she is yet to watch his last film, Ikkis, citing emotional reasons.

Dharmendra’s final film Ikkis was released in theatres on January 1 and marked his last appearance on the big screen. The film deeply touched fans, many of whom described the experience as emotional and unforgettable. Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, also organised a special screening of the film, which was attended by close family members. However, Hema Malini and her daughters did not attend the screening.

In a special interview with Screen, Hema Malini opened up about her decision to postpone watching the film. Responding to a question about whether she had seen Ikkis, she said that she was in Mathura for work at the time of the film’s release and had professional commitments to complete. She further added that watching the film at present would be emotionally overwhelming for her.

“I cannot watch the film right now. It would be very painful for me,” Hema Malini said, adding that her daughters share the same sentiment. She noted that while she has not seen the film yet, she plans to watch it at a later time.
