Bhubaneswar, Dec 11: The International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar (IIIT-Bhubaneswar) today inaugurated the International Conference on Geoscience and Remote Sensing Systems (InGARSS-2025), a four-day global event bringing together leading scientists, researchers, technologists, and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge advances in geoscience and remote sensing technologies.
The conference aims to address contemporary challenges in disaster management, climate analytics, and environmental sustainability, among many other critical areas.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries and eminent personalities from India and abroad.
Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati commended IIIT-Bhubaneswar for hosting a conference of such global relevance and reiterated the state’s dedication toward fostering scientific excellence.
The ceremony featured a welcome address by Prof. Ashish Ghosh, Director, IIIT-Bhubaneswar, who underscored the institution’s role in advancing research in geoscience, AI, and data-driven environmental technologies.
The event was presided over by Dr. Paul A. Rosen, Scientist, NASA, and Dr. Saibun Tjuatja, President, Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), both of whom emphasized future scope of international research collaboration in remote sensing applications.
Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary, and Pradeep Kumar Raut, E & IT Special Secretary highlighted the state’s growing commitment to technological innovation and its strategic vision to integrate geospatial intelligence in governance and disaster preparedness.
